Run for Tigers with Rangers

7 january 2020 In Dec, WWF and the northeast tiger and leopard National Park Administration,  Jilin Radio and Television Station, and Migu Run APP, jointly launched the online running campaign “Challenge the Rangers: Run for Tigers”, aiming to showcase the rangers to the public by encouraging the public to run for tigers and experience rangers’ patrol mileage.

The daily patrol of Amur tiger habitat rangers needs to walk 10-15 kilometers (round-trip) every day, which is much harder than walking and running in the city. WWF and its partners encourage the general public to compare steps with rangers, experience patrol mileage, understand and feel the hardships of patrol work and their great contributions to wildlife protection. So far, there are 200 people joining the challenge online. The event will last for 2 months.

Rangers are the guardians of nature, and patrol is one of the most basic management work in nature reserves. “Run for Tigers” is also a public participation activity of WWF and partners in support of the 5th Tiger Habitat Ranger Competition in January.
